GoSolid is run for gamers, by gamers, so you are guaranteed to get what you want out of your Xbox LAN experience. We are dedicated in bringing you the best in both casual and competitive events featuring some of the greatest players the state and indeed the country has to offer! We regularly LAN first person shooters including Halo and Call of Duty so if its fraggin' your after, you have come to the right place.
A LAN refers to an event or gathering in which the participants computers, or in this case Xboxes, are linked via ethernet to share a Local Area Network, (LAN), for the primary purpose of playing multiplayer games. For our regular LAN events participants are required to bring their own consoles and games. On occasion GoSolid runs feature tournaments usually located at larger events such as gaming expos and associated gatherings which do not require participant to bring anything except the desire to pwn! Make sure you have an account on GoSolid with your valid email address to receive fresh news about next event. Sign up here.
It all starts with a formal announcement that a GoSolid Xbox LAN event is scheduled. This happens right here at GoSolid.org.au on the events page. The announcement is usually preceded by people requesting for a particular date/game to be run. The best place for such requests is the forum.
Upon announcing that a Xbox LAN event is scheduled, registration opens. Registration is done through the forums and is carried out in a first come first served basis. So to avoid missing out make sure you register asap! At this point you tell all your mates to get out of their bedrooms and ready up for the battlefield. Registration usually closes a few days before event day to allow admins to prepare draws, game rules and settings.
On event day gamers are given approximately 30 minutes to settle in and warm up before the event starts and war breaks out! Unfortunately late comers forfit any rounds that they are absent for. An entry fee is payable on event day only. Any players/teams registered that do not show are penalised at the next event.
After the battle has ended and the war is won, results and field reports are posted on gosolid.org.au for all to see. Gloat in glory or get back to training for the next LAN.
